I extend our congratulations to Kyoto Computer Gakuin on the celebration of your 50th anniversary.
Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), also known as The Kyoto School of Computer Science, founded in 1963, is the first private computer school in Japan. KCG has over 40,000 alumni, now making a difference in various parts of the world.
The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) is the first ICT professional graduate school in Japan, which offers terminating degrees in IT. Our alumnus, Mr. Wataru Hasegawa, is the founder of this school, and our Teachers College faculty, particularly have also been involved with KCGI. As a Teachers College graduate, I am proud to know this great accomplishment of a fellow graduate alumnus.
Congratulations to the KCG and the KCGI, and the dedicated members of faculty and management, and to all the students who benefit from excellence in IT education in Japan, delivered by KCG and KCGI.

“Kyoto School of Computer Science”の英語名でも知られるKCGは，日本最初の私立のコンピュータ教育機関として1963年に創立されました。これまでに輩出した卒業生は4万人以上にのぼり，卒業生の方々は世界各地で社会に変革をもたらしています。
京都情報大学院大学（KCGI）は, IT分野における日本国内での最高学位を授与する日本第一号のIT専門職大学院です。KCGIは，本学の卒業生である長谷川亘氏によって創立されたこともあり，本学の教職員もKCGIの活動にはとりわけ密接な関わりを持ってまいりました。私もコロンビア大学ティーチャーズ・カレッジの卒業生の一人として，同窓生である氏のこれまでの偉業を誇らしく思っております。
