パプアニューギニア独立国 特命全権大使

京都コンピュータ学院は日本最初のコンピュータ教育機関で, 1963年に設立されました。60年前のことです。京都情報大学院大学は日本最初のIT専門職大学院で, 20年前に設立されました。
私は駐日パプアニューギニア大使として, 60年前に始まったこの学校がすでにパプアニューギニアと関わりを持って, コンピュータを寄贈していただいていることをとても嬉しく思っています。記録を見ると2008年から2009年にかけて, そして今年もすでに295台のコンピュータを寄贈していただいています。
これはとても重要なことです。世界はすでに情報科学を駆使しており, その技術は変化しています。パプアニューギニアでも教育機関や学校を発展させて, 子供達を情報分野にとり込もうと努力をしています。自国を前進させて, 発展させるためです。多くの開発部門でコンピュータが使用されています。その膨大な情報が我々の教育機関や学校などで活用されて, 学生の能力の向上に繋がっています。そして, 彼らが取り組んでいるとき, それがとても重要です。
今の日本を見てきて, 日本政府と日本の教育機関, 特にKCGとKCGIにはとても感謝しています。将来を見据えた時に, さらにこの関係が進化し, より多くの学生がこの恩恵を受けて勉強が続けられることを願っています。
そして，日本政府とKCG・KCGIが我が国に関心を持ってくれていることに感謝します。みなさんが我が国に来て, 必要としていること, 特に教育機関や大学を支援してくれることを大いに歓迎いたします。
日本政府に感謝し，神に感謝します。
日本に，そしてパプアニューギニアに祝福を。

Embassy of Papua New Guinea
Kyoto Computer Gakuin is the first computer education institute in Japan, started in 1963, and that's 60 years ago. The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics is the first IT professional institute, and that started twenty years ago.
But I'm so glad, as ambassador of Papua New Guinea to Japan, that this institute, which has started those 60 years ago, had already made contact with Papua New Guinea and started to give computers. And I see records of that being done in 2008, 2009, and then this year, they have already started to give 295 computers.
And that's very important because the world has turned into using informatics and the technology has changed, and Papua New Guinea is trying to get its institutes and school children and all getting into the information area to try and advance itself or develop itself. Many development sectors are using computers, and there's so much information around that can be used by many of our institutes and schools and all that in order to be able to upgrade the students. And when they are doing that, and it's very important.
Now I've seen what Japan is doing now, and I'm very grateful to the Japanese government and Japanese institute and especially KCG as well as KCGI, and I look at the future and hope that that can progress and a lot more students cannot take advantage of this and they will follow up these studies and do more of that in the future.
And I thank Japanese government and KCG and KCGI for having the interest, and you are very much welcome to go in and help what we all need in the country and especially the institutes and the universities.
So, I thank Japanese government and thank God.
